UNSEEMLY POSSESSIONS
Before the start of high school, I organized my room to prepare for this “new life”. I stuffed what I thought a proper high schooler would not need, trinkets and clay figures I made, into boxes to be exiled to the crevices of my room. It wasn’t until the day I was searching for a missing backpack that I unearthed a box I had stashed away and took a guilty peek inside. I first noticed the stare of a clay apple, accusing me of my ignorance. A polka dot monster was there too, patiently sitting with its hands crossed. The lid apparently wasn’t enough to smother them, and I watched as the scarf started seeking its way out.
